The happenings in 2012 so far.

             This is my horse Sierra.  Sam is putting on her first set of shoes on.  She did better that I thought she would. 

              We also have been working with her with some new technics and helping her become a respectful horse.  She has come miles from where she was last year.



Snow

I don't know what it is about snow but I just love it. Yesterday Sam and I made a snowman well half way. We didn't give it a face or anything so pretty much it is 3 snow balls stacked on top of each other. It sure was fun. It had been way to long since the last time I made a snowman. I forgot how much fun it is.

The Blessing of the Priesthood.

In the month of May, the date being the 15th 1829. The prophet Joseph Smith and his Scribe Oliver Cowdery went into a grove a trees to recieve an answer concerning the doctrine of Baptism. They did not just receive an answer.These two brothern received something more. They received the first priesthood or the lesser, also known as the Aaronic Priesthood. "Which holds the keys of the ministering of angels,and of the gospel of repentance, and of the baptism by immersion for the remission of sins."(D&C 13) and soon there after received the higher priesthood or the Melchizedek priesthood. Some time ago my dad Jim Nelson, under went a surgery on his shoulder. The surgery was over and done without any compications. how ever the anistedict they gave him to put him to sleep would not come completely out of his lungs. Causing him to wheeze and be short of breath, even to the point of turning his lips blue. That night after his surgery i got a call from mom asking me to come down to the ranch and give him a blessing. The blessing started out as always when it came to me words of revelation, and a deeper grasp and understanding of the priesthood. that revelation was that the Priesthood is the POWER and the Authority for man to act in gods name here on earth. in other words we stand as though our Heavenly Father is The one giving the blessing. And at that moment greater power came to me and i did not just tell my dad that he would be healed but i was able to do as the lord did for the blind, the sick, and even the dead in commanding that he be healed. By the time the blessing was done dad had already started breathing better. A Blessing is not a petition to the lord as a prayer is, as already stated it is the power and the authority of god given to man to act in his name here on the earth. This is the same power that Christ gave to his Apostles and unto Peter saying"And i will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven"(Mathew 16:19). This is why us as priesthood holders must be faithful, unduanting, and unwavering in being righteous and faithful. For we are god's mouth Piece speaking as though the Lord was here himself. So if one says let it be so it is made so. But remember that it is only based on faith and righteousness, shall it be bound in heaven. Thus why we must listen to know what We as mouth pieces should properly say. I bare witness that the priesthood we have today is the same priesthood that Ne phi and Elijah used to bind the heavens that they could not rain. May i also give this warning as well, if we are un-authorized as to say for example; we try to turn the elements as Nephi, Elijah, and Moses did, as they were authorized to do. And we not being authorized try to turn the elements should not expect success. Or think that us not being given the keys can receive revelation for others, or being wicked in speech or action may think we can work in the Lords name. The priesthood is sensitive and can not be used under anger or in times to build ones self esteem up.We have been warned that if any man uses the this priesthood in evil or unrighteousness having being wicked or walking in dark paths. The lord has said to us"Amen to that Mans Priesthood or the authority of that man.behold, ere he is left aware, he is left to himself, to kick against the pricks.(D&C 121:37,38). For this is why it is gods authority and his priesthood. My i Bare once more my witness with those who have before born there witness of the importance of this power and blessing, and gift. That it is here and provides us with the full and eternal and everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ.That all the keys of heaven have been restored to the prophet Joseph Smith, and have been passed down through and un-breaking chain of prophets to our present day prophet Thomas S. Monson. Who i know is a prophet with all the keys of the kingdom to guide us As well as the Apostles that minister under him. how grateful i am to set in these last days in these trouble times under the feet of a prophet of the lord and here the inspired council they give to us. And how excited i am for next week to set once more and here words of council from them. i testify of our savior my savior and redeemer. for he lives he is the only begotten son of god. His atonement is real. He lives and has walked with me in my Gethsemane and times of Darkness. And has given me Blessed moments to See His power Be used and for his spirit to witness Of all divine truth of that those Great words That HE LIVES. this i bare humbly in hopes that all who read our blog may know Christ lives, and that what i have learned may be beneficial to all who read it, in other coming closer to Christ or coming to him for the first time. i Say it with this seal in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

New Year Another Battle

So far 2011 has been pretty good to Sam and me. We right now are in the process of trying to buy a house. This is all new to us as most of you know. But we are nervous and excited none the less. I now work part time for Pinedale Cleaners. Its a good job. I love who I work for.

Sam and I are going to try to go work out at the gym together when he gets off work. Will see how that goes. I really would like to lose 80 lbs.. But right now I am focused on losing 10 lbs. for now and working down to 80 lbs. I have a lot of work cut out for myself.

Christmas and the New year

Christmas this year was great. Sam and I went down to utah the week before christmas. We celebrated our own christmas with my family. We were so excited to give our nephews their christmas presents which Paxton loved his train whistle, pj's, and cowboy boots. Aiden on the other hand being a baby did he didn't know what was going on. Sam found the cutest christmas pj's for him. We also gave him a teddy bear.

We spent Christmas up here on the ranch. It was a lovely Christmas. We had tons of fun opening our present from one another. Rio even got a christmas present. We got him a huge dog bone. Which he doesn't want anything to do with unless he is really bored or we aren't looking. Rio sure has changed. He is getting bigger and braver.


As for the New Year. Sam quit his job with Redi Services and is now working for All American Fuel. He is enjoying his new job. Me, I am working out four days a week. And I get to baby sit one or twice a week. I really enjoy each of the kids I baby sit. They bring a smile to my face with all the funny things they do and say.

Some Words of Comfort

For sometime, starting with the lost of our own little one. I have heard a great number of more accounts of women who have had miscarriages. Other early in birth or later say five or six months along. And I have wanted to post something on Jamiee's and my blog concerning the matter. But didn't know where to start. Today a lot has come to my mind. For as of yesterday Jamiee's Grandma Keller was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. So I intend to write words of comfort, as well as turn and press upon your minds some scriptures that may bring peace, comfort, and a brighter knowledge of the truth. That none of us even in our darkest hour are alone. I want to use passages of scripture to help us understand a few things. First, The Lord loves us and has given us promises that he will not leave us. Second, whether we are big and strong, weak and lowly, sinner or saint he will comfort you. And finally some words of promise from our own brethren in these latter days.


The first part is the Lord loves us for we are his children. In Moses 1:4 it reads. “And behold thou art my son." Let’s also look at the words of Nephi that he gave to the Spirit of the Lord. "When ask Doest thou know the condescension of God." Nephi replied, "I knowth he loveth his children." (1Nephi 11:17). Are convinced yet that your Heavenly Father loves you? If no, let me point out a few things to you. In the beginning our Heavenly Father had a plan. In that plan we would get the chance to become just like him. To gain a body and to have the right to choose eternal life, or endless captivity and suffering. So this plan required that we get some extra assistance. Cause we chose the right to choose. And since none of us are perfect we need a savior to redeem us. Our Heavenly Father sent his only begotten son down to this earth to help bring us back, or to provide away to do so. That way is the atonement. Let’s look at some more scriptures. Lets look at Alma 7:11 ”And he shall go forth suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind. And this that the word might be fulfilled..... That he will take upon him the pains and sicknesses of his people.... And he will take on him there infirmities. That his bowels may be filled with mercy." Through this scripture may I point out, that the atonement covers more than just sin. This is why he wept drops of blood and bled from every pore. And even in Christ's loneliest hour he was not left comfortless. His Father in Heaven sent and angel to tell him words of comfort.


Now let us look how he won’t leave us to the kicking against the pricks. The Lord promised us in the book of John in the New Testament " I will not leave you comfortless." I want to show you good sisters and brethren another promise given to the prophet Joseph Smith while he was imprisoned at Liberty Jail in Missouri. " My son peace be unto thy soul, thine adversity and afflictions shall be but a small moment. Then if thou endurest well God shall exalt thee on high, thou shalt triumph over thy foes." This promise is for you as well. Know I know the pain is still there and the Lord knows this. That's why in D&C 121 he reminds us "Thy friends stand beside thee and hail they with open arms." The angels that ministers to us in our Gethsemane aren't angels with whom we relate the angel Moroni with but angels sent from God to give us a warm meal or warm arms out stretched. Or even the Lord himself embracing you in his arms as he did Porter Rockwell while he was imprisoned at liberty Jail but at a different time then Joseph Smith. Porter knew of some attempts that were going to be made. To kidnap Joseph Smith and bring him back into Missouri and hopefully be done with him once and for all. Porter had been on his knees praying for Joseph’s safety when a dove cooed on his window ceil and then left. Then the dove appeared again. This time coming in thought the prison cell bars. Flying around the room and then back out. In Porters words I quote, " At that moment I knew Joseph was safe. And no harm would be fall him from these attempts." My I close with a couple of stories of comfort and promise from the lives of our prophets and their teachings. The prophet Joseph Smith once told a sister, who lost her child that Quote " Children that die at birth or before they are born were valiant spirits in the pre-existence and there only real requirement was to gain a body. To grace our presence for a short time and then leave us". So you sisters hold your heads high and know that you have had a valiant spirit amongst you. And for you sisters that have a child fight but just can't hang on, and now have to deal with the pain of the memory of holding that infant. May I give words of comfort. I never got to know my Aunt Kelly. She died just a week after her birth. My Grandma Louise Noble was told that if she was faithful that and true to the faith that she would get the opportunity to raise Kelly in the Millennium. Thus it can be for you sisters as well. I would go as far to say that you brethren will have that opportunity as well. Know that you have tools and don't let Satan intise you into not using them. By using phrases like, Don't be a burden, your fine, or so and so is dealing with it just fine why can't you. You are not so and so. You are named and are known in the heavens. And our Father in Heaven notes the fall of every little sparrow. So does he know our pains. For his son has engraven us in the palms of his hands. For this purpose I write. For your trial is not a small thing whether cancer, lost of a child, or lost of a loved one. Whether by death, or series of unfortunate events. I know that Christ atonement covers all these bounds. I know that his promises are true as well, And the promises and examples I used can apply to us in our own lives if we only exercise our faith. I know Christ lives. And that he will not leave us comfortless this I know and testify of in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Almost a year!!!

So Sam and I have almost been married one year. Time sure does fly. This year has been full of a lot of learning experiences. I know that Sam and I wouldn't trade any of our learning experience and trials.
